TULUA (IRE)

One of the most exciting young bands in contemporary Irish traditional music, TULUA combine a fresh, energetic sound with deep roots in the tradition. Meaning ‘tribe of many paths’ Tulua hail from the southeast of Ireland. Drawing inspiration from local songs, tunes and sessions around Ireland, their music blends strong instrumental playing with rich arrangements and storytelling, having been previously described as showing ‘true bond and empathy’ (IMM 2024) and ’music that transcends the mind’ (NCFF 2025).

Since the bands formation in 2019, Tulua have toured extensively worldwide. They were official showcase artists at the 2025 Folk Alliance International Conference in Montreal, Canada and National Celtic Folk Festival, Australia. They have been part of many renowned festivals such as Electric Picnic Ireland, Stan Rogers Festival Canada, Milwaukee Irish Fest USA, Lorient Festival France. Through this they have garnered a strong following with their music being shared all over the world on playlists (Spotify/Podcasts), radio stations (CKUA Radio/RnaG etc.) and TV programs (Fleadh TV, Ireland with Michael etc.).

2026 so far has seen the release of their second studio album,'In The Snug' which was successfully launched across Ireland. As well as this, Tulua have performed at various festivals across Ireland such as Phil Murphy Weekend (Co. Wexford), Éalú le Grá (Co. Galway) as well as further afield in Scotland and Canada. With many more festival appearances this year as well as international tour dates, they look forward to sharing their musical journey with everyone as they explore and express the possibilities within Irish traditional music.

Band members: Kayleigh Moran (fiddle/vocals), Diarmuid Murphy (flute), Cian O'Grady (guitar) and Ella McGrory (piano).
