The Borough (AUS)

The Borough are a four piece bluegrass band from Brisbane, and yes, you read that right: Bluegrass, not “bluegrass.” This is Bluegrass with a capital ‘B’, played the way it was meant to be, with banjo, guitar, mandolin, fiddle, bass fiddle and four voices gathered around a single microphone.

Forged in the crucible of Brisbane’s infamous West End venue, The Burrow, The Borough are a group of bluegrass obsessives ready to bend your brain with blisteringly fast precision picking, tight driving rhythms, rich blended harmonies and a healthy dose of fun.

The band features Paul Henderson on banjo (Estampa, The Shining Hour), Marcus Church on guitar and vocals (The Inadequates, Haystack Mountain Hermits), Markus Karlsen on bass (Present Company, The Company, CO2), Innes Campbell on mandolin and vocals (Present Company, Zumpa), and Lucy Kammerman on fiddle (ABOTMA Young Performer of the Year).
