Apolline (AUS)

Australian folk trio Apolline is an award winning neo-trad band whose intricate arrangements and high-quality performances have stunned audiences since their debut. Known for their creative, nonconformist style and unique instrumentation of fiddle, cello and double bass, the band utilises a wide range of musical influences such as jazz, classical and video-game soundtracks to inspire an innovative sound new to the folk scene. Whether it be fiery, quick-paced reels or intimate, slow ayres, the group’s technical artistry and creativity consistently wows audiences.

Since their first performance in 2022, the band’s prominence and influence in the Australian folk scene has grown exponentially, performing at over 20 different festivals across the country including Woodford Folk Festival, Port Fairy Folk Festival and Fairbridge Festival. In 2024 they won the Gill Rees Memorial award for Young Musicians at the National Folk Festival and then went on to win Folk Alliance Australia’s Youth Artist of the Year at the Australian Folk Music Awards, where their debut EP ‘Home Home’ was also nominated for ‘Traditional Album of the Year’ and ‘Debut Album of the Year’. Their momentum continued internationally after receiving the Robinson Emerging Artist Award at the Goderich Celtic Roots Festival in Ontario, Canada.
