Robert Zielinski & Manuela Centanni (AUS)

Known for their tone, unison playing and harmonies, Robert Zielinski and Manuela Centanni play traditional music from Ireland and Robert’s original compositions inspired by the South West of Western Australia.

Their repertoire draws on Robert’s unique mentorship from Mick Doherty, a member of the famous Doherty family of travelling fiddle players from Co. Donegal. Robert also spent 14 years living on the west coast of Ireland, a time he describes as “a world of music”, where he met and played with many of the masters of the old tradition.

Since they met in New Zealand 6 years ago, Robert and Manuela have performed many concerts, including the world premiere of Robert’s composition Kiangardarup (The Torbay Suite) in the Perth Concert Hall, receiving a standing ovation.

In 2025, Robert won Instrumentalist of the Year at the Australian Folk Music Awards and a West Australian Music award as String player of the Year for his work on his awardwinning album Kiangardarup.

On fiddle and wooden flute, their music has been described as “music that will transport you” (Semra Lee). Together, they will bring their audience on a journey from the west coast of Ireland to the incredible South West of Western Australia.
